Christ: Flight into Egypt—In a rocky landscape, the Virgin Mary, who has a rayed nimbus, is seated sideways on a bridled ass led by Joseph, who carries a sack on a stick over his shoulder. She carries a nimbed Christ Child, swaddled. They walk along a road leading to a building in front of which two men converse.
The scene is framed by a border with a landscape in which a man seated on the ground plays a flute. A dog lies beside him. In the distance and to the left, a road leads to a building.
