Acquired by Pierpont Morgan sometime between 1885 and 1908.
Notes
"...no egyptianizing elements appear in 971, which might be considered Palestinian, since its chariot scene closely resembles those on ivories found at Megiddo. In any case, this similarity suggests that 971 may be of the same date as the Megiddo ivories, which have been tentatively assigned to the time between 1350 and 1150 B.C."--Porada, CANES, p. 130-131
