Notes
"The heros in the contests often, as in 52, wear flat caps as well as skirts tucked up above the knee to provide freedom of movement. The fact that in a contemporaneous limestone inlay from Kish a king is similarly attired shows that such caps and skirts were characteristic of the Second Early Dynastic period." .
