Issued as plate number 3 in James Ward's Some account of Mary Thomas of Tanyralt in Merionethshire, who has existed many years without taking food: and of Ann Moore, commonly called the fasting woman of Tutbury. Accompanied with portraits and illustrative etchings, London: printed for the author, sold by R. Ackermann, and Messrs. Colnaghi and Co., 1813, no. 3.
Robert Edwards acted as guide and interpreter to James Ward in 1807 during his visit to Mary Thomas, the fasting woman of Tanyralt. At the time he was nearly 90 years old and was well known in the town of Dolgelleu as the 'Old General'
