Summary
Liberty, her hands tied behind her, stands on a funeral pyre made of a printing-press. The sovereigns of Europe dance in a ring round the flames. The Prince Regent (George IV), in back view, is between Ferdinand VII of Spain, wearing a Jesuit's biretta and an embroidered petticoat, and the Devil, also wearing a biretta. The others are (left to right) Pope Pius VII, Louis XVIII of France, Frederick William III of Prussia, Francis I of Austria, and Tsar Alexander I.
