Summary

Print shows the exterior of a continental inn and Poste Royale, where a young Englishman, his tutor, and servant are greeted by a hotelier holding a bill of fare and wearing enormous sabots. Beside him a postillon in oversize boots holds a whip, and in the background an old woman prepares to kill a rooster while a cook attempts to capture a cat for the traveller's dinner. The English traveller is shown holding a cane and a copy of Chesterfield's letters. A sign over the hotel door reads "Bon chere icy chez La grenouille traiteur."
