Caption text continues: ... Johnson & Ward being seconds, col. Wyndham & Mr. Smith umpires, & Humphreys & Dunn being Bottle holders; it lasted an Hour & 14 Minutes, during the whole of which time, from the agility & superior strength of Jackson, Futrell maintained a very unequal contest, having his Guard frequently held by Jackson with one hand & beat by him with the other in a most terrible manner, till being unable to stand he was obliged to yeild [sic].

Print depicts the celebrated boxing match between Thomas Futrell (i.e. Fewtrell) and John "Gentleman" Jackson, with the two contestants in the midst of the fight, flanked by their respective seconds and bottle men and surrounded by spectators. Among the crowd may be identified Lord Derby, Colonel Hanger, and the Prince of Wales.
