Summary
Obverse and reverse of the medal depicted; at left: the goddess of peace is drawn in a chariot by two lions, who are trampling upon a battle flag as a cannon, shield, pistol, and other tools of war lie under the wheels of the chariot; Peace clasps a horn of plenty in one arm and raises the caduceus of Mercury over the two lions with the other hand; at right: cupids hold up a suspended field of cloth above a harbor crowded with ships, with ten lines in Latin, beginning: Pacis foelicitas.
