Summary
Obverse and reverse of the medal depicted; a rock in the middle of wild waves with the arms of the seven provinces and a woman with a hat of freedom; with motto: Ut rupes immota mari stat foedere juncti [They are permanently tied together, like a rock in the sea, found unswerving]; the text on the other side describes how on August 26, 1651 the regions of the United Netherlands decided after the death of the William II of Orange to continue in unity without appointing a new stadholder.
