Proof of a wood engraving on tissue by Butterworth after an illustration by A.H. Moore.
Morgan Library copy has pencil inscription indicating that the wood engraving was created as an illustration for Palgrave's The visions of England; the illustration was evidently never published.
Accompanied by a guard sheet bearing the stamp of the Butterworth firm and an inked inscription reading "With compliments."
