Provenance
Monastery of Saint Michael (Dayr al-Malāk Mīkhāʼil); found in 1910 near the village of Hamuli, Fayyūm Province, Egypt, at the site of the Monastery of Saint Michael; purchased in Paris in 1911 for J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) from Arthur Sambon, a dealer acting in behalf of a consortium of owners including a certain J. Kalebdian; J.P. Morgan (1867-1943).

Isaiah 1:1-20a and 7:6b-8:2a wanting and now in Berlin, Germany, in the former Berlin State Museum, Papyrus-Sammlung (Ägyptisches Museum und Papyrussammlung, P. 11966); Isaiah 55:16-56:24 wanting and now in Cairo, Egypt, in the Coptic Museum (Mathạf al-Qibtị̄, Cairo Ham. I).
Written area ca. 288 x 208 mm. Divisions: Brown leather tab fastened to top of fore-edge of fols. 12, 14, 17, and bottom of fore-edge of fol. 37 at some of the major divisions of the codex; title, with dividers above and below, and paragraphus sign setting off major textual units; ekthesis, reddened enlarged initial, and mostly paragraphus sign setting off paragraphs; some passages, especially quotations, marked by a small reddened diple in margin of each line, as at fol. 33r b. Exceeding letters of last line of the page sometimes written below end of the line, on ca. a fifth of the rectos and fols. 22v, 46v and 54v at end of a quire; also on a few versos; occasionally below column a and below other lines.
Script: Upright (including titles). 10 lines = ca. 78 mm
Superlineation: Non-standard. Punctuation: Raised reddened dot in conjunction with a space. Tremas.
Collation: Signed on first and last page of the quire, top inner margin. No quire ornaments, monograms, headlines or catchwords.
Decoration: frontispiece, headpiece, tailpiece, paragraphus signs, coronis, obelus, page numbers, extended letters. Color: deep reddish orange (Centroid 36) for reddening.
