James. London : Chiswick Press, 1906, no. 92; purchased by J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) with the Bennett Collection in 1902; J.P. Morgan (1867-1943).

Ms. book of hours for the use of of Rome (Hours of the Virgin); written and illuminated in Italy, perhaps Milan, ca. 1450-1475.
Scribe: Sigismondo de'Sigismondi.
Decoration: 10 historiated initials surrounded by full borders with medallions containing cameos or busts of prophets; small outline drawings in the lower margins.
Artist: Boccardo is the main illuminator according to M. Levi d'Ancona (Oct. 14, 1971)--Cf. PML files.
