M.914 was a component of the massive extra-illustration (587 portraits, views, proofs, etc.) incorporated into a first edition copy of Thomas Frognall Dibdin's The Bibliographical Decameron of 1817, rebound by Rivière into 12 volumes in the early 20th century; Collection of Mrs. Walter P. Bliss; her estate sale (New York, Parke-Bernet Galleries, 12 December 1961, lot 60) to Mr. John F. Fleming; purchased from Fleming and Gift of the Fellows in January, 1963.
