Executed at and for St. Peter in Salzburg (where it was MS A.X.6; ex-libris of monastery on fol. 227v); it remained at the monastery until purchased for the Pierpont Morgan Library through the Lewis Cass Ledyard Fund in 1933.

Ms. Gospel book; written and illuminated at the Benedictine monastery of St. Peter (Salzburg, Austria), during the second quarter of the eleventh century.
Decoration: 7 full-page and 16 smaller miniatures; 4 decorated incipit pages; and 18 canon tables.
Textiles: protective curtains over some of the miniatures.
