Late 19th or early 20th century lacquer-painted covers on thick boards; center medallions pendants, and corners are painted with roses on a black background and raised above a field of embossed cloud bands painted a garish red-gold; the cartouche border contains poetry; the doublures are painted similarly.

Notes
Ms. written and illuminated in Iran, probably in Shīrāz, ca. 1575 and 1585; additions to the decoration on fol. 3v and 4 were made probably when the manuscript was joined with the present binding in the late 19th or early 20th century.
The layout of the ḥāshiyya is 24 lines.
