A copy of Darvish Maḥmūd Mes̤nevī Khān's translation into Turkish for the Ottoman Sultan Murād III (ruled 1574-1595) of "Thawāqib al-manāqib awliyaʼ Allāh," which is ʻAbd al-Vahhāb ibn Muḥammad al-Hamadanʼi's abridgement of Shams al-Dīn Aḥmad Aflākī's 14th century history in Persian of the early leaders of the Mevlevī order of deverishes (Mevleviyeh) in Konya, Turkey.
Decoration: blue, black gold, orange, and green rulings surround the text box; illuminated headpiece; 29 miniatures.
The manuscript was misbound when it came into the Pierpont Morgan Library; it was reordered by Wheeler Thaxton; for a concordance of old and new fol. numbers see entry for this item in "Islamic and Indian manuscripts and paintings in the Pierpont Morgan Library."
