Ms. confraternity statutes for the Scuola di Santa Maria Nova in Venice; written and illuminated in the third quarter of the 15th century; entries begin in 1476; the last dated entries are in 1758.
The Scuola di Santa Maria Nova was a charitable confraternity associated with the church of San Salvatore in Venice. Among the activities of the Scuola was the furnishing of dowries for respectable girls.
Decoration: 2 full-page miniatures with borders, 1 full-illuminated border with 2 historiated medallions (fol. 1); one historiated initial with seated Virgin and Child.
