19th-century lacquer over painted pasteboard, each cover depicting a court scene and framed with floral borders; painted and lacquered doublures, a red field with floral gilt pattern, three black cartouches enclosing colored flowers, in full brown levant morocco solander case, and at one time enclosed in a red silk wrapper.

Notes
Ms. persian accordion album; painted in Iran, probably Isfahan, around 1820. The 24 paper and card leaves are attached with cloth tape at the long edges in accordion style.
Decoration: 24 paintings, measuring 200 x 130 mm., supposedly representing Fath Ali Shah at various ages, and members of his court, framed with borders of various colors, on tinted paper of contrasting hues, spattered with gold.
Three different watermarks are found on the support paper: a large armorial topped with a crown, on the shield an eagle with widespread wings hovering above a tower, the initials T G below; the name GAGGIERO; the name BELLANDO, not located in Briquet, Heawood, Zonghi, or Piccard.
