Provenance
Probably made for a member of the Spanish community in Bologna, perhaps of the Colegio de España (prayer to Saints Eugene and Idelfonsus on fol. 6, prayer of Rodrigo Jimenez, archbishop of Toledo (1209-1247) on fol. 10v); in France at some time in the 15th century when fols. 50-76 were added; purchased by Henry Hucks Gibbs, first baron Aldenham (1819-1907) in 1880 (armorial bookplate on inside front cover); purchased at the Aldenham Library Sale (London, Sotheby's, Mar. 23, 1937, lot 237) through the Lewis Cass Ledyard Fund.

Decoration: 1 full-page miniature; 18 historiated initials.
