Summary
Head-and-shoulders portrait of William Penderel, facing slightly right. The portrait is part of a larger image of a tree, labled "The Royall Oake", and a pastoral scene. The engraving represents William, Richard, and Humphrey Pendere's assistance in rescuing and hiding King Charles II after his defeat at the battle of Worcester in September 1651. The King hid from Cromwell's soldiers in the tree and is being offered food by the man standing to the left of the tree.
