15th-century German blind-stamped calf over wooden boards (40.5 x 29 cm), sewn on 5 supports, bound in Coesfeld (Coesfeld I-O workshop (Münster Fraterhaus), EBDB w000204, active 1470-80); repaired and rebacked. Modern pastedowns with previous pastedowns as endleaves; previous spine covering preserved in rear pastedown. 2 clasps.
Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Contemporary Coesfeld rubrication, red initials, paragraph marks, and capital strokes; primary initial with penwork decoration (leaf [1]/2r). Annotations: Some contemporary marginal notations in text in first few quires only. Contemporary manuscript alpha-numeric signatures, mainly trimmed.
