Binding
18th/19th-century red straight-grained morocco with gilt-tooled framing and turn-ins over paper boards (34.5 x 24 cm), sewn on 5 supports. Paper pastedowns and fly leaves painted blue, with plain paper flyleaves; decorative endbands; gilt edges.
Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Gold initials with white-vine decoration with orange and maroon interior spaces and blue outline). Annotations: Marginal notations throughout in a contemporary Italian hand, later bleached (but mainly still visible), leaving the outer margins very fragile.
