19th-century English full brown goatskin (style similar to Francis Bedford) over paper boards (20.5 x 14 cm.), sewn on 5 supports. Plain paper pastedowns and fly leaves; decorative endband; gilt edges.
Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Contemporary German rubrication, red initials, capital strokes, and underlining. Annotations: Contemporary marginal and interlinear notations throughout, in a German hand, including citations from Horace (leaf h8v).
