Notes
Naldini trained with Jacopo Pontormo and spent most of his career in his native Florence, where he was amont the founders of the Accademia del Disegno. This sheet, however, is from a sketchbook he filled during a trip to Rome in the early 1560s. Executed in Naldini's characteristic vigorous penwork, it records a lost fresco by Polidoro da Caravaggio.
