Each drawing is signed by the artist and inscribed with a title below the image in pen and brown ink, marginal sketches in graphite at right; in pencil on mount at lower right: p. 154.
Summary
Drawing shows a group of Irish rebels, impaling a prisoner upon their pikes, with other prisoners under guard to the left, and men and women cheering and laughing at the sight, boats and harbour buildings beyond; with two small graphite figure studies for the impaled prisoner and one of the executioners in the margin at right.
