A painting by Wright of the same subject, with the addition of a figure pushing off a boat in the foreground, is recorded as a lost painting by Nicolson, who reproduces a painting of Lake Windermere with Langdale Pikes answering this description which he identifies as a copy after Wright; this same painting, newly reattributed to Wright, was later sold at Sotheby's in London on June 7, 2006 (Sale L06120, Lot 187).
