Notes
This drawing was acquired by Joseph McCrindle as by an artist from the "circle of Stefano della Bella", but was attributed to Allegrini while in his collection. It presents a procession receding into an undefined, hilly landscape. The procession includes camels, horses, a collection of small animals, and humans traveling both on foot and on camels; some of the animals and humans are laden with heavy packs. The scale of the figures is small relative to the size of the sheet and the surrounding landscape towers over them.
