Notes
Collins is a new name for the drawings collection. Known primarily for his coastal views of England, Collins also traveled to the continent for study and inspiration. In this work the artist concentrates on some rundown farm sheds in the center, laying the most intense color on these buildings and describing the foreground in diluted washes of the same color. After his death, his son Wilkie Collins wrote a biography, The Life of William Collins, Esq. R. A. (1848).
