Thaw Collection.

Notes
Watermark: none.
In November 1901, Cézanne purchased land outside the town of Aix-en- Provence and established his last studio. This work depicts the view from his studio terrace toward the town. Beyond the balustrade topped with terra-cotta flowerpots, much of the view dissolves in Cézanne's broad strokes of watercolor, although the distinctive profile of Mont Sainte-Victoire can still be seen in the distance. -- Exhibition Label, from "Drawn to Greatness: Master Drawings from the Thaw Collection"
