ANGELO II: Son and pupil of Simon. Also studied with Franz Adams, Gropius (in Berlin) and Cambon in Paris. Till 1850 he helped his father. Angelo's primary work was decor for Wagner's works and private showings for King Ludwig II. He also worked in watercolors (a field in which his father had excelled), and did interior decorations for the Gartner-Theatre in Munich, the city hall in Cologne, and a castle on the North Sea. Among the operas were "Tannhauser," "Lohengrin," "Tristan," "Rheingold," and "Meistersinger." Originally from the Lake of Como country, the Quaglio family emigrated to Bavaria in the 17th century. Angelo's uncle, Domenico II, was also a scene painter in Munich.
