This depiction of the ancient Roman statue of Flora, formerly in the Giustiniani collection in Rome, is one of a series of drawings by Francesco Piranesi probably made in connection with his "Raccolta di Statue Antiche." In addition to the three drawings at the Morgan (inv. 1966.11:128, 1966.11:129, and 1966.11:130), further studies from the set are found in the Piranesi albums at the Staatliche Kunsthalle, Karlsruhe.
