The drawing represents the left side of the right-hand tower of the Church of the Knights of St. John in Prague. Also known as the Church of Our Lady under the Chain and the Maltesian Church, it was founded in 1158 and its towers erected around 1300. A drawing by Roelandt Savery of the same church was with Bernard Houthakker, Amsterdam, in 1996 (according to his advertisement in Simiolus 26, 1996, nos. 2-3) and was sold at Sotheby℗s, Amsterdam, November 11, 1997, lot 45, as R. Savery.
